Thanks to my Masters in Public History (University of Waterloo), over my 20+ year career in culture and heritage, I have  held many different, successful positions  - Outreach Coordinator, Public Educator, Researcher, Corporate Historian, Freelance Writer/Reviewer, Curator, Workshop Leader, Development Officer, History Book Editor, Heritage Consultant -  (P.S. I started when I was very young :)

I love what I do – using writing, research and organization skills to preserve and promote local history & culture. I enjoy using my training as a writer and historian to explore different topics and their implications.

* I write books of history & fiction, travel & historical articles, reviews of books, places, restaurants, events and retail experiences.

*History, my first love, is what I research when working on corporate histories, local histories, and books of Canadian history.

*I write grants, specializing in government grants for small culturally-based organizations & festivals. I also teach how to write grants to artists, community groups, and anyone interested.

*I work with museums and galleries, again specializing in small organizations. With museums and galleries, I do exhibit design, organization, cataloguing, marketing, grant-writing, volunteer management and board development.

*I do many presentations and workshops on fiction writing, grant-writing, heritage, and the Canadian history of the many facets of small communities in Canada.

*I work with municipalities to research and create heritage registers and heritage inventories as required by the Ontario Heritage Act, as well as work supporting their municipal heritage committees.

*In my spare time, I support the cultural organizations of Huron County, Bruce County and Grey County in Ontario by attending and volunteering with the multitude of special events & organizations in and around Georgian Bay and the Bruce Peninsula.

*I am a poet and writer, inspired by the rural lands of the Bruce Peninsula & Southwestern Ontario, amazing landscapes that I visit and live within. My deep roots with the community gives me an interesting perspective of the area.
